Description:

In Shadow at the Edge of Absence, Noor constructs a quiet visual paradox that unsettles the relationship between an object and its image, between seeing and knowing. At the center of an almost empty room lies an overturned wooden chair, while its reflected form appears upright and composed. What appears to be physical reality seems unstable, while its image possesses the order the object has lost.

From the edge of the composition, a human hand holds a magnifying lens. Instead of enlarging the room, the lens reveals another space filled with silent watching eyes. An instrument intended to help us observe suddenly makes us aware of being observed. A pale circular light and deep, weathered blues give the room a sense of suspended time. The empty chair becomes more than an object: it is an unoccupied position within the painting that the viewer may gradually begin to inhabit.

A large-format statement work with immediate visual impact and a strong conceptual tension between observers and observed.
